In the grasslands around Mt. Sanbe, you can sometimes see cows grazing on pastures. The landscape of the grasslands is the result of many years of raising cattle and horses. This was encouraged by the Yoshinaga Domain, which was established within the territory of the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine. The grasslands were also used for a time as training grounds for the former Japanese Army. The current scenery has been formed over a long history.
